For decades, more and more small and medium sized manufacturers (SMMs) have left the defense industrial base that supports our military. From making replacement parts for the Air Force’s aging fleet, hustling to get work on the Navy’s modern fleet, or pitching in on Army personnel carriers, this portion of the industry does critical work to fill the gaps.
However, the bureaucracy, outsourcing, and industry consolidation have hollowed out the base of our nation’s defense industry. The Department of Defense and the large defense prime contractors need this backbone of our nation’s economy more than ever. DIBCON was established to change this.
DIBCON exists to foster an environment for manufacturers to engage directly with Pentagon leaders and key decisionmakers. We welcome manufacturers of all sizes, whether you are already involved in contracting with the Department of Defense; have been trying unsuccessfully to grow your defense business; or have never considered this huge opportunity.
Our goal is simple: to grow the defense industrial base of SMMs through thoughtful conversations and action. DIBCON is the only conference that brings together all key stakeholders involved in our nation’s defense industrial base. In addition to networking and hearing plugged-in speakers, DIBCON is an opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with Defense buyers as well as informational meetings to meet professionals who exist to help you, the small manufacturer, grow and thrive in the defense marketplace.
